PSA: DC League Of Super-Pets Is Now Streaming On HBO Max

A brand new DC movie has made its way to HBO Max, making it easy as ever to watch. DC League of Super-Pets, the animated film starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as Krypto the Super-Dog, is now available on the streaming service. The movie was available in theaters over the summer but now can be enjoyed right from the comfort of home.

Director Jared Stern’s DC Comics adaptation earned solid reviews out of the gate. Despite that, it didn’t quite find the audience it needed in theaters. Against a reported $90 million budget, it has earned $186 million to date. Still, this is one that could have a very good second life on VOD and streaming, thanks to the family friendly nature of it.

Here is the synopsis for DC League of Super-Pets.

“In DC League of Super-Pets, Krypto the Super-Dog and Superman are inseparable best friends,  sharing  the  same  superpowers  and  fighting  crime  in  Metropolis  side  by  side.  When  Superman  and  the  rest  of  the  Justice  League  are  kidnapped,  Krypto  must  convince  a  rag-tag shelter pack—Ace the hound, PB the potbellied pig, Merton the turtle and Chip the squirrel—to master their own newfound powers and help him rescue the Super Heroes.”

The stacked A-list cast is led by The Rock. The cast also includes Kevin Hart (Jumanji, Secret Life of Pets), Kate McKinnon (Saturday Night Live, Magic School Bus Rides Again), John  Krasinski  (A Quiet  Place),  Vanessa  Bayer  (Saturday  Night  Live,  Office Christmas Party), Natasha Lyonne (Show Dogs, Ballmastrz 9009), Diego Luna (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Maya and the Three), Marc Maron (Joker, GLOW), Thomas  Middleditch  (Godzilla:  King  of  the  Monsters,  Captain  Underpants:  The  First  Epic  Movie),  Ben  Schwartz  (Sonic the Hedgehog, Duck Tales), and Keanu Reeves (the Matrix and John Wick films).

This isn’t the only DC movie that Johnson has coming our way this year either. After well over a decade of development, Black Adam is set to hit theaters in October. The film will see Johnson playing the titular anti-hero, with the film also bringing the Justice Society of America into the fold. The original plan was to have Black Adam as the villain in Shazam. Those plans changed once The Rock became a huge movie star in his own right though. And you may even see a little bit of Black Adam in DC League of Super-Pets.

DC League of Super-Pets arrives on Blu-ray and DVD on October 4.
