Mega Man: Fully Charged Series Announced by Boom Studios

Boom Studios is bringing us a brand new Mega Man comic. The publisher has announced Mega Man: Fully Charged. The new six-issue series comes from the writers behind the TV series of the same name, A.J. Marchisello and Marcus Rinehart. Stefano Simeone (Read Only Memories) is on board to handle the art.

Here is the official synopsis for Mega Man: Fully Charged

“After Mega Man’s father Dr. Light is kidnapped, a shocking truth rocks Mega Man’s world as it seems the Robot Masters know more about his secret history than he does. But as Dr. Wily’s machinations trigger Mega Man’s forgotten memories of the brutal human/robot war, our hero is left to question just who he is and if he can trust anything or anyone – including the man he calls father.”

Boom also unveiled some initial art for the book. A cover sees the iconic Capcom video game hero in all of his glory. The first issue will feature a main cover by Toni Infante (Champions), as well as variant cover art by artist Miguel Mercado (Buffy the Vampire Slayer). We’ve included both covers for you to check out below.

“Having worked on the Mega Man: Fully Charged television series, we’re honored to help usher this story from screen to page. Man of Action’s unique take is a Mega-fan’s dream, and thanks to BOOM! Studios, that dream has come true,” said Marchisello and Rinehart.

“I can’t believe I’m working on something that I grew up with and enjoyed so much when I was a kid,” said Simeone. “I’m very happy to be working on a new Mega Man comic book, and I can’t wait to share my enthusiasm and excitement on the pages of this series with readers and fans everywhere!”

You’ve never seen Mega Man like this before,” said Matthew Levine, Editor, BOOM! Studios. “Joe, A.J., Marcus, and Stefano have created a high-octane adventure that explodes off every page. Longtime fans and new readers alike are sure to find everything they love and expect from the character, but packaged in the rich and provoking world of the Mega Man: Fully Charged television series.”

Mega Man is best known as a popular, long-running video game series. The animated series for which this book is based originally aired on Cartoon Network in the United States. 52 episodes of the show were produced.

Mega Man: Fully Charged #1 arrives in August 2020.
