The Flash has returned! That’s right, Barry Allen is back for more speedy shenanigans on The CW. After a long break, The Flash season 8 premiere has arrived, and it’s just the first in a five-part epic premiere. Titled Armageddon, Barry is going to need a lot of help to get through this first chunk of the new season. Luckily, for anyone who may have missed it, the season premiere is now streaming for free.

As we can see in that little teaser there, none other than Brandon Routh has returned to the ArrowVerse. Routh was a regular as Atom on Legends of Tomorrow. He is just one of many guests stars who got pulled in for this huge event The CW has put together. Those who wish to stream the premiere can do so by heading to The CW’s website.
Here is the synopsis for The Flash season 8 premiere.
PART ONE OF THE ARMAGEDDON FIVE EPISODE EVENT. When a powerful alien threat arrives on Earth under mysterious circumstances, Barry (Grant Gustin), Iris (Candice Patton) and the rest of Team Flash are pushed to their limits in a desperate battle to save the world. But with time running out and the fate of humanity at stake, Flash and his companions will also need to enlist the help of some old friends if the forces of good are to prevail.
The series is still headlined by Grant Gustin as Barry Allen / The Flash. Candace Patton as Iris West-Allen, Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow / Killer Frost, Danielle Nicolet as Cecile Horton, Kayla Compton as Allegra Garcia, Brandon McKnight as Chester P. Runk and Jesse L. Martin as Detective Joe West round out the main ensemble. Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and Eric Wallace serve as executive producers.
Whether or not this will be the final go-around for Barry and the gang remains to be seen. The ArrowVerse has changed a lot recently, with Arrow wrapping up last year. And this year has brought about the end of both Black Lightning and, more recently, Supergirl. If The Flash also ends, it would be a seismic shift. At least we have the long-awaited Flash movie coming our way next year, one way or the other.
The Flash season 8 premiere is streaming now for free on The CW’s website.
