My Adventures with Superman season 2 is nearly upon us. Warner Bros. has announced that the second season of the animated series will premiere on Saturday, May 25 on Adult Swim. The show will return with back-to-back new episodes beginning at midnight. New episodes will then follow every Saturday thereafter, with episodes also streaming on Max beginning on Sundays. WB has also released a new trailer for the new season, which you can check out below.
The trailer promises a lot of fun. It features much of the same playful animation style that fans will be familiar with from the first season. There is a great deal of action, as well as some fun cameos in the footage including none other than Amanda Waller. So, are we getting some Sucide Squad action? One imagines the trailer isn’t revealing everything coming our way either.
Here is the synopsis for My Adventures with Superman season 2.
“In the latest season, the three best friends face a host of new threats. Powerful foes will emerge from Clark’s alien past, Amanda Waller will take aim at Superman, Lois will grapple with the future, and Jimmy Olsen will spend an unbelievable amount of money. Krypton is coming for our young heroes, and its arrival will test their strength, loyalty, and love like never before.”
It’s a good time to be a fan of the Man of Steel. Not only do we have this show on the air but James Gunn is currently directing his new Superman movie. It is going to kick off the new DC Universe, which includes a host of new movies and TV shows. David Corenswet is playing our new Clark Kent for Gunn. Also, we’ve got the final season of Superman & Lois currently filming. It is expected to premiere on The CW later this year.
The cast for the series includes Jack Quaid (The Boys) as Superman/Clark Kent, Alice Lee (Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist) as Lois Lane and Ishmel Sahid (Jury Duty) as the voice of Jimmy Olsen. Sam Register (Teen Titans Go!) serves as executive producer. Jake Wyatt (Invader Zim: Enter the Florpus) and Brendan Clogher (Voltron: Legendary Defender) are on board as co-executive producers in addition to serving as showrunners. Josie Campbell (She-Ra and the Princesses of Power) is also on board as co-producer.
