The Batman Star Robert Pattinson Says What He’s Seen Is Really Cool

We’ve got a tiny update on The Batman from Robert Pattinson. We will be getting a new trailer for the film soon enough during this year’s DC FanDome. But, for now, the former “Twilight” star has offered a little tease of what’s to come in the DC comics adaptation.

Pattinson, who is taking up the mantle as Bruce Wayne/Batman in the movie, recently spoke with Variety. During the interview, the actor revealed that he has seen some of the movie. In vague terms, he describes it as cool.

“I’ve seen some of the movie now and it’s kind of really cool. It’s really cool.”

Admittedly, that’s not too much to go on. But at this stage, Pattinson can’t say much. Especially with so much set to be revealed in just a couple of weeks. To that end, Pattinson teased that he and his co-star Zoe Kravitz, who plays Catwoman, did some stuff for the event that we’ll seen on October 16.

“Me and Zoë [Kravitz] did some stuff. It’s a fun little thing. There are lots of little surprises for it.”

Here is the description of this year’s DC FanDome.

DC FanDome is DC’s free, global virtual fan event featuring a live webcast and activities, for one day only, where we showcase our biggest movies, games, shows, comics and more and get up close and personal with the people behind the characters and worlds we love. With exclusive reveals, behind the scenes looks, fan celebrations and can’t-miss moments, you’ll want to be sure you’re here on October 16 to catch all the action!

As for The Batman, the movie is directed by Matt Reeves (War for the Planet of the Apes, Cloverfield). It has had its fair share of delays and production woes due to the pandemic. But filming wrapped earlier this year and Reeves is hard at work in post-production. We got our first teaser trailer during last year’s DC FanDome. Now, it’s come full circle, as the new trailer will debut at this year’s event.

The cast also includes Paul Dano (Love & Mercy) as Riddler, Jeffrey Wright (The Hunger Games ) as James Gordon, John Turturro (Transformers) as Carmine Falcone, Peter Sarsgaard (Black Mass) as Gil Colson, Barry Keoghan (Dunkirk) as Officer Stanley Merkel and Jayme Lawson (Farewell Amor) as Bella Real. Andy Serkis (Black Panther) as Alfred, and Colin Farrell (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them) as penguin round out the ensemble. As we recently learned, HBO Max has begun developing a spin-off series centered on Penguin

The Batman is scheduled to hit theaters on March 4, 2022.
