That’s a wrap! Director Peyton Reed had revealed that Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania has finished filming. The third solo entry in the Ant-Man franchise, which began filming in July, will see Paul Rudd return as Scott Long. And, as the title implies, Evangeline Lilly will also be back as Janet Van Dyne, aka Wasp. Reed took to Twitter to share the news. Have a look.

Plot details are largely being kept under wraps for the sequel for the time being. One thing we know for sure is that Jonathan Majors will be starring as the villain, Kang the Conquerer. It seems like Kang is being set up as the big bad for Phase 4 of the MCU, especially given what happened in the Loki season 1 finale. Recently, speaking to Collider, Majors had this to say about taking on the role.
“When I looked at the significance of Kang in the MCU, I agreed to the role the same way I agree to any other film that I do. What is the responsibility of the character? Can the world move forward without them? Can the scene move forward without them?’ And if it can, then I’m okay, and it if can’t, then it’s something I want to take on and take that responsibility.”
Also starring will be Michael Douglas as Dr. Hank Pym, and Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet Van Dyne, reprising their roles from the previous movies. Kathryn Newton joins the cast as Cassie Lang, the daughter of Scott Lang. Reed is in the director’s chair after helming both prior installments.
To date, the Ant-Man movies have been successful, even if that success is somewhat modest by MCU standards. Ant-Man took in $518 million at the box office, while Ant-Man and the Wasp did even better with $623 million.
One possible bit of bad news for fans is that we still have a long time to wait before we actually see the film. Marvel Studios has had to shift its release dates many times due to the pandemic. As a result, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania won’t be in theaters until summer 2023. At the very least, that gives Reed and the team plenty of time to get things finished. Between now and then, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Doctor Strange In the Multiverse of Madness, Thor: Love and Thunder, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and The Marvels will be released,
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is set to hit theaters on July 28, 2023.
