Before Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman arrived in theaters, many wondered whether Lynda Carter, who portrayed the character in the 1970s TV series, would make a cameo appearance. But that didn’t happen in the first WW movie.
A Lynda Carter cameo wasn't out of the question as the DC Extended Universe installment went into production. The veteran actress told People that the studio was open to having her in the movie, but a scheduling conflict stood in the way:
We were trying to get me in the first one, and we couldn't make it work with our timing.
Carter suggested that an appearance is a possibility and there’s already been some discussion. Nothing is set in stone yet, but she’s certainly up for it:
It really is up to Patty, and if it works in an organic way, it'll be great fun and it'll be wonderful to do. Am I open to it? Absolutely. I ADORE Patty Jenkins, and it'll be wonderful to do. But we'll just see how that goes.
Wonder Woman 2 wouldn’t be Carter’s first post-Wonder Woman DC Comics adaptation. She appeared in a single episode of Smallville Season 6. More recently, the third episode of Supergirl Season 2 introduced her as US President Olivia Marsdin, who was later revealed to be a Durlan (an alien with shape-shifting ability). But having the opportunity to see the former Diana Prince share the screen with the current one would be an altogether different experience.
