The official first look at Brie Larson as Captain Marvel has surfaced on web along with stills showing off her allies in the movie.
Last week, we came across a rumor suggesting that Marvel Studios was planning to drop some good stuff on Captain Marvel this September. While we initially suspected the arrival of a trailer, Brie Larson's tweet from yesterday made it clear that we would be getting one or more promotional images from the March 8, 2019 release today.
Now, Entertainment Weekly has launched the cover of their latest issue that puts the spotlight on Captain Marvel. Larson isn't donning some green suit that we saw in the leaked set photos. This time, we get the comic-accurate combination of red, blue and yellow. Check out the cover below!
Along with the cover, EW has also released a bunch of photos that includes three more solo shots of Larson. The first one offers another look at Caron Danvers in her superhero costume. The other two show the character in her Air Force and civilian attires. Here are the stills for you!
The other stills debuted by the magazine introduce us to Carol's allies. One of them is, of course, the one and only Nick Fury. But as the upcoming Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck flick is set in the 1990s, the Fury we see here looks a lot younger and is also missing his signature eyepatch. In the movie, Samuel L. Jackson's character is a lowly S.H.I.E.L.D. desk jockey who hasn't run into any superhero yet.
Another notable ally of Captain Marvel in the movie is Mar-Vell. Portrayed by Jude Law, Mar-Vell is the commander of Starforce who views the titular superhero as a mentee and pet project. And then, there's one of Carol's oldest friends Maria Rambeau. Portrayed by Lashana Lynch, Maria is a top-notch Air Force pilot with the call sign "Photon". According to EW, she is also a single mother to a young daughter. Check out the photos below!
