The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live Final Trailer Released By AMC

AMC has released the final trailer for The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live. This is the show that will finally bring back Rick Grimes and Michonne after years away. The two most beloved characters in TWD universe are back for an event series, and it looks like the biggest (and probably most expensive) show in the franchise yet. Check it out.

This show has been a long time coming. Originally, the plan was to have Andrew Lincoln return as Rick Grimes for a trilogy of Walking Dead movies. Those plans eventually changed. Instead, AMC brought the actor back, alongside Danai Gurira’s Michonne, for an event series. That said, the trailer makes it clear that they spared no expense. This is arguably the most cinematic the franchise has ever looked. There is lots of action, impressive special effects, and new characters to go around.

Here is the synopsis for The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live.

“The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live presents an epic love story of two characters changed by a changed world. Kept apart by distance. By an unstoppable power. By the ghosts of who they were. Rick and Michonne are thrown into another world, built on a war against the dead… And ultimately, a war against the living. Can they find each other and who they were in a place and situation unlike any they’ve ever known before? Are they enemies? Lovers? Victims? Victors? Without each other, are they even alive — or will they find that they, too, are the Walking Dead?”

The cast for the show also includes Pollyanna McIntosh, Terry O’Quinn, Matt Jeffries and  Lesley-Ann Brandt. The series is produced by Showrunner Scott M. Gimple, Lincoln, Gurira, Denise Huth and Brian Bockrath.

This is just the latest expansion of The Walking Dead universe on AMC. Even though The Walking Dead ended after 11 seasons at the end of 2022, the network has since doubled down. Fear the Walking Dead also came to an end after eight seasons, but several more spin-offs have since debuted to keep the zombies alive for years to come. The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon and The Walking Dead: Dead City are both coming back for second seasons after premiering last year. There was also The Walking Dead: World Beyond, which concluded its two-season run in 2021.

The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live premieres February 25 on AMC and AMC+.
