The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 2 Releasing This Summer

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 2 is coming this summer. The second season of the latest Walking Dead spin-off series, officially subtitled The Book of Carol, has been given a premiere window. While we don’t have a solid date, the show’s star Norman Reedus has revealed that the show will return this summer on AMC. And he’s bringing Melissa McBride with him.

Reedus made the reveal on Instagram (via IGN). On his Story, the actor posted two trailer stills that reveal the show’s summer 2024 return. AMC has yet to weigh in but if this is true, we should be getting more information sooner rather than later. It also means we should expect to see a trailer in the coming weeks. The first season of the spin-off aired last year following The Walking Dead series finale in 2022. The network was quick to give it the green light for season 2. Back in October, it was confirmed that McBride’s Carol would be along for the ride this time. In a statement at the time, McBride said the following.

“I’ve known there was much more to be told of Carol’s story as I felt her so unsettled when we last saw her, as she watched her best friend, Daryl, ride away. Apart or (hopefully!) together, their stories run deep, and I’m so excited to continue Carol’s journey here. This team of storytellers have done amazing work to land these two established characters in an entirely new world to them, and I’m loving the discoveries!”

Here is the synopsis for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon.

“In The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, Daryl (Reedus) washes ashore in France and struggles to piece together how he got there and why. The series tracks his journey across a broken but resilient France as he hopes to find a way back home. As he makes the journey, though, the connections he forms along the way complicate his ultimate plan.”

The cast also includes Clémence Poésy, Louis Puech Scigliuzzi, Laika Blanc Francard, Anne Charrier, Romain Levi and Eriq Ebouaney. David Zabel, Scott M. Gimple, Reedus, McBride, Greg Nicotero, Angela Kang, Brian Bockrath, Daniel Percival, Jason Richman and Steve Squillante serve as executive producers.

AMC has built out a healthy universe based on Robert Kirkman’s Image Comics series of the same name. In addition to this show, The Walking Dead: Dead City will also be returning for a second season. There’s also The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, which recently kicked off its first season. That show finally brings Rick and Michonne back in the mix.

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol premieres this summer on AMC.
