The CW’s Batwoman Season 3 Trailer Arrives

We’ve got our first good look at Batwoman season 3. The CW has released a new trailer for the show as it is poised to return to the network this fall. It feels like just yesterday that season 2 of the DC series wrapped up its run. Now, we’re already gearing up for another round of adventures with Ryan Wilder. Have a look.

As we can see, the big hook here is that the Mad Hatter is being set up as a major villain this season. The ArrowVerse has always been a good place to highlight somewhat obscure villains. We also get a little tease of Poison Ivy, with Bridget Regan set to portray the famed character this season.

As a refresher, here’s the synopsis for Batwoman season 2.

“Season two kicks off with a major game-changer that will alter Gotham and The Bat Team forever. As the dust settles, Batwoman has everything working against her – including the recently escaped rogues’ gallery of villains – and everyone will come to see her in a whole new light. Alice meets her match when she becomes entangled with a dangerous foe from her past who knows exactly how to prey on her vulnerabilities. As Luke (Camrus Johnson) and Mary (Nicole Kang) find their footing as sidekicks, a romance will shake up their dynamic. Meanwhile, Sophie (Megan Tandy) and Julia’s (guest star Christina Wolfe) budding relationship will face its first real test and make Sophie question everything she thought she knew to be true.”

Batwoman is just part of what ArrowVerse fans have to look forward to this fall. We are also getting The Flash season 8 and Legends of Tomorrow season 7. Plus, Superman & Lois season 2 is on deck. The timeline between seasons feels a bit short because the 2020/2021 season was upended by the pandemic. As a result, much of last season was pushed to this year. So there is less of a gap than we might normally have experience.

The first season of Batwoman featured Ruby Rose in the lead role. However, the actor decided to part ways after season 1. That’s when Javicia Leslie was brought in as a brand new character, Ryan Wilder. So far, her tenure seems to be going quite well. That is good since the network recently said goodbye to Black Lightning. And it will soon bid farewell to Supergirl

Batwoman season 3 premieres on October 13 on The CW.
