The CW has revealed the synopsis for the Legends of Tomorrow season 6 finale. As reported by Comicbook.com, the logline for the episode, titled The Fungus Amongus, has made its way online ahead of the episode hitting the airwaves. Season 6 of the long-running DC series is set to air early next month.
Legends of Tomorrow debuted back in 2016 as The CW was looking to expand the ArrowVerse. With Arrow wrapping up its run it is second only to The Flash as the most senior DC show on the network. Now, the team is gearing up for what is shaping up to be a wild finale.
Here is the synopsis for The Fungus Amongus.
“SEASON FINALE – When Sara (Caity Lotz) realizes Bishop’s (guest star Raffi Barsoumian) plan, Ava (Jes Macallan) convinces Sara to allow the Legends to make exception to the rules to help fight back. Behrad (Shayan Sobhian) comes up with an interesting plan, that allows Sara to connect with an old friend. Meanwhile, amidst a battle Sara and Ava make an important decision but need the help of the team to pull it off. Dominic Purcell, Nick Zano, Tala Ashe, Matt Ryan, Olivia Swann, Adam Tsekham and Lisseth Chavez also stars. David Geddes directed the episode written by Keto Shimizu & James Eagan.”
The CW has already renewed the series for season 7. Legends of Tomorrow will return in the fall alongside the likes of Batwoman and The Flash. Whether or not it will go beyond that remains to be seen. Supergirl is wrapping up its run after this season and Black Lightning recently packed it in after four seasons. Safe to say, the ArrowVerse is changing, but not going anywhere soon. With new shows like Superman & Lois carrying the torch, the network should be able to keep this universe on the tracks for some time.
Legends stars Caity Lotz as Sara Lance/White Canary, Dominic Purcell as Mick Rory/Heat Wave, Nick Zano as Dr. Nate Heyood/Steel, Tala Ashe as Zari Tarazi, Jes Macallan as Ava Sharpe and Matt Ryan as John Constantine. Adam Tsekhman as Gary Green, Olivia Swann as Astra Logue, Shayan Sobhian as Behrad Tarazi and Lisseth Chavez as Esperanza Spooner Cruz also star.
The series is executive produced by Greg Berlanti (Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl), Phil Klemmer (The Tomorrow People, Chuck), Grainne Godfree (The Flash), Keto Shimizu (Arrow), James Eagan (Ash vs Evil Dead, Hellcats) and Sarah Schechter (Arrow, The Flash).
The Legends of Tomorrow season 6 finale airs on September 5.
