Moon Knight Series? Steven S. DeKnight is Game!

Steven S. DeKnight is game for a Moon Knight series!

If Marvel really plans to launch a live-action Moon Knight project, they might want to think about approaching the man who brought Daredevil to the small screen.

Director Steven S. DeKnight (Pacific Rim Uprising, Daredevil Season 1), who consistently responds enthusiastically when fans ask whether he’d be up for directing a certain movie or series, has indicated that he’d be interested in running a Moon Knight series.

The director recently told Comic Book that he was genuinely interested in bringing Marc Spector to life, although he’d never considered using the character in Daredevil:

I never considered including Moon Knight in Daredevil. Somebody asked me on Twitter a while back if I would do Moon Knight. I’ve always been a huge Moon Knight fan, and yeah, if I had the time in my schedule and the stars aligned, I’d love to do Moon Knight. I mean, I love the whole multiple personality. Is he crazy? Is he not crazy? Has he really gotten these mystical powers? Are they supernatural, or is it all in his head? I think it would make for a very, very interesting Marvel Universe kind of Netflix show. I also hope they’ll expand and give him a shot sometime.

Recent rumors suggested that Marvel was considering a Moon Knight Netflix series. But then we heard that Kevin Feige later revealed that the studio was considering a standalone movie.

Whatever format Marvel ultimately decides on, DeKnight’s proven talent for telling a dark, gritty story might just make him the ideal candidate for the director’s job.
