Kevin Feige: Moon Knight Movie a Possibility!

Kevin Feige recently provided a glimmer of hope to fans wishing to see Moon Knight in a Marvel Cinematic Universe project.

Rumors that a live-action television series for Mark Spector, aka Moon Knight, could be in the works have been swirling around online for years, and director James Gunn teased a big-screen debut for the character in January 2017. He added that he had a great idea for a solo movie, but he couldn't pursue it at the time because of his obligations to Guardians of the Galaxy.

More recently, Feige revealed to ScreenRant that Marvel intends to make use of the fan-favorite superhero, although he couldn't specify any sort of time frame for the project:

Yes. Does that mean five years from now, ten years from now, fifteen years from now? There are stacks of character cards that we have in our development offices, which we look at. Which we pull for him, which we discussed.

We recently heard it through the grapevine that the studio also has an Eternals project in the early stages of development. During a conversation with TheWrap, Feige said that there's some truth to the rumors:

Eternals is one of many many many things that we are actively beginning to have creative discussions about to see if we believe in them enough to put them on a slate.

Even more recently, Feige suggested that there's immediate potential for a Nova movie, so it appears that everything is still up in the air. One thing we're sure of is that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is set to expand the MCU's cosmic borders, so it could also set the stage for the Eternals and Nova.

On the other hand, Disney CEO Bob Iger said recently that when they have the rights to Deadpool, Disney will explore the possibility of creating an R-rated brand within the MCU. With his dark, gritty stories, Moon Knight would be a perfect fit, but we may have to sit tight for a year or so before the post-Phase Three slate is official.
