Aquaman (5 October 2018)
Of all of the big names involved in the DCEU, Jason Momoa seems to be the most excited about his solo project. Directed by James Wan of Furious 7, Insidious, and Conjuring, Aquaman will also star Amber Heard as Mera (she looks awesome in costume) and Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko. And Patrick Wilson (who appeared in Insidious and The Conjuring, and voiced POTUS in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice) will play the main antagonist, Orm.
The Aquaman synopsis teases an origin story in which Arthur Curry learns that he’s the rightful ruler of Atlantis and his people need him to lead. And this will put him on a collision course with his half-brother Orm Marius, also known as Ocean Master.
Jason Momoa looks ferocious as Aquaman, and it remains to be seen what the future holds for him. However, given the state of the DCEU, I wouldn’t be too surprised to see the King of Atlantis used to reboot the entire shared universe.
How? Via a Flashpoint adaptation in which Aquaman will clash with Wonder Woman and bring the destruction of the world (to be noted, Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman doesn’t really care for the Man’s World as a whole, as revealed in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice).
