The MCU’s Dormammu is GREAT.

Seriously, find whoever came up with the idea of using dimensional ripples to make up Dormammu's face so it would look like a comic book fire effect, and give that person a Nobel Prize. That person is a genius.

Dormammu looks imposing, and he’s deeply, uncontrollably powerful. He is so horrific a foe that Doctor Strange was only able to beat him through trickery and deal-making. A physical or magical challenge was only ever going to end in destruction. Do you know what you call an otherworldly foe with unstoppable evil powers that you can only defeat through trickery? The Devil. You call that The Devil. Comic book Dormammu is a vicious fire-headed monster who will mess you up any day of the week. His servants are called Mindless Ones, which is delightful. It's such a mean name, but it's presented as such.
