Showrunner for Marvel’s The Inhumans has been Found!

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. first introduced the Inhumans during its second season. At that time, a feature film on the superhuman race was in active development, with Joe Robert Cole hired to pen the script. Marvel Studios had even announced it as a Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase Three installment, setting a release date of November 2, 2018. The release date was pushed back to July 12, 2019, but the movie was later removed from the release schedule.

Last month, after keeping us in the dark for a number of months, Marvel announced that an eight-episode live-action series titled Marvel’s The Inhumans will air on ABC. The series, centered on Black Bolt and other members of the Inhumans Royal Family, is scheduled to premiere on the network next fall, after the first couple of episodes are screened in IMAX theaters for two weeks starting September 4, 2017.

Now, Marvel has found the man who will serve as The Inhumans series’ showrunner. According to their official website, they've hired Scott Buck for the job. He's a familiar face to them, since he is also showrunner for the upcoming Netflix series, Marvel’s Iron Fist. Buck is best known for his work on Showtime’s Dexter, HBO’s Six Feet Under, CBS’ Everybody Loves Raymond, and HBO/BBC/Rai Fiction’s Rome.

While the announcement doesn’t offer any further details on The Inhumans series, it's surely one of many to be made in the coming days. Marvel has yet to find an actor for the role of Black Bolt and fill up the entire cast roster. Since the show is arriving in less than year, it's safe to assume that they won’t take much time in making those decisions.
