Black Panther Finally Coming to Marvel’s Avengers In War for Wakanda

Black Panther is finally coming to Marvel’s Avengers. The news was revealed as part of publisher Square Enix’s roadmap for the video game, which includes a lot of new content and updates in the coming months. Titled War for Wakanda, this is said to be the largest content drop since the game was initially released. A trailer has been released previewing the DLC. Have a look.

The Black Panther update will join some of the previously released DLC for the game. Most recently, Hawkeye joined the fight in the Future Imperfect update. The game was also made available on both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X recently. So it is now optimized for next-gen consoles.

This is potentially a good sign for Marvel fans. The game launched last year with a bit of a whimper. Players didn’t flock to it the way they did with Marvel’s Spider-Man. Players have started to abandon the game, which was predicated on a big online player base. And sales have not been at all in line with what the company had hoped for. But they have heard what the community had to say and this new roadmap looks to improve things in the coming months. Black Panther is just the tip of the iceberg.

Here is the synopsis for Marvel’s Avengers.

“After the A-Day disaster destroyed San Francisco and created a population of Inhumans, the Avengers disbanded. In their absence, Advanced Idea Mechanics (AIM) swears to protect the people, but all is not as it seems. Start in the role of Kamala Khan, a teenage Avengers mega fan, on the run from AIM after uncovering a damning secret on their servers. As you reunite the Avengers, you’ll play as each member to learn how they work inside and out. Journey as each of the Avengers across and beyond the Earth to rekindle the Avengers’ confidence in themselves before there’s no world left to save.”

“Our focus moving forward is to deliver new content that is compelling to play and replay again while offering better rewards. We are expanding upon what the Avengers Initiative currently has to offer to provide more choices for players when they hop in game and have completed all the Operations. We do want to mention that this roadmap could potentially change depending on the ever-changing world of game development, but we also feel confident about what we have presented here and hope it also excites you,” the publisher said of its new roadmap.

“Our team is committed to improving Marvel’s Avengers, beginning with these upcoming additions to the game,” Square Enix says. “This is only the start of our future plans and, as stated previously, not everything we’re working on. We’ll be sharing more details over these coming months, so keep an eye out on our official channels. We hope this roadmap offers you a bit more knowledge into what we’re focusing on as we continue development day in and day out in order to make Marvel’s Avengers the game we know it can be. Thank you for your continued patience, your support, your feedback, and your unbridled passion!

Black Panther: War for Wakanda arrives later this year.
