Gal Gadot proved in 2017 that female superheroes can score big at the box office and with critics. And Wonder Woman is currently shining brighter than ever within a shared universe that’s still seeking its own path.
The Wonder Woman sequel won’t arrive until 2019, but the popularity of both character and actress continues to grow. Patty Jenkins and Gal Gadot are returning for the second installment, and Kristen Wiig has been cast as main antagonist. We can’t wait to see Diana Prince clash with Cheetah!
Gal Gadot has no projects slated for release until Wonder Woman 2 lands in theaters, but she’s managing to stay busy and in the spotlight. Yesterday, the actress joined several other stars to make the new Maroon 5 and Cardi B music video Girls Like You.
Among others, Millie Bobby Brown (Stranger Things), Ellen DeGeneres, Sarah Silverman, Jennifer Lopez (who needs to play a superhero), Elizabeth Banks, and Rita Ora all appeared in the video. Check it out below:
Girls Like You was the ninth track on Maroon 5's sixth album, which was released in 2017, but the video just turned up yesterday.
The Wonder Woman sequel is scheduled to begin filming later in June. According to numerous online reports, Chris Pine will appear, although his character, Steve Trevor, died in the first film. Would resurrecting the character diminish the first film’s emotional impact, or would he be present through flashbacks or dream sequences? Could he even be a descendent of Trevor?
We'll wait and see. And since Gadot has no projects slated for release until Wonder Woman 2, we’re hoping that she'll show up in a few more music videos!
