The latest Suicide Squad clip doesn't offer too much new footage - as a matter of fact, it actually doesn't offer any at all. However, we do get to hear the extended version of Joker's sinister laughter.
So, from the beginning, the new clip has Rick Flag narrating over a quick succession of shots. He reminds the squad once again that they are going somewhere bad, where they will be killed. There are no ifs in here, since the official leader of the team knows better what chances of success there are.
Harley, Deadshot, Diablo, Killer Croc, and Enchantress are the only characters to be seen. But the last one is the most interesting - by now, even the most passionate detractors of Jared Leto's Joker must be reconsidering their position. That maniacal laughter is just one of the hints that he will play an awesome role.

Again, not too much new footage. Returning to this new Joker, his laugh shows that he actually enjoys what he's doing. Like a true psychopath, he can take pleasure from the most abnormal of all things. And yes - he does seem to be channeling just a bit of Mark Hamill"¦
If there is something else that becomes clear after seeing this Suicide Squad clip, it is that this movie clearly differentiates itself from anything we might have seen until now on the big screen, as far as superhero movies are concerned (maybe because this isn't a superhero flick). And the difference is even more obvious when comparing the fun and (apparently) chaotic Suicide Squad with the dark and gloomy Batman v Superman.
But this might just be a genius move from DC and Warner Bros, since it can be said that the two complement each other. You have the mature-and-hefty-ideas-tackling Batman v Superman, and then you have the gleeful and punk rock-like Suicide Squad.
It’s as if Warner Bros and DC are building the buzz by playing one movie off the other. Hey, guys, look! Suicide Squad is next, after Batman v Superman! Or, Hey, guys, look! There's another flick coming before Suicide Squad (yeah, at this point we guess that people have lost most of their interest in Batman v Superman). Don’t you think so, too?
We like this kind of marketing, even if it doesn't offer new footage. There is time for that, though.
Suicide Squad will be released in about 7 months, on the 5th of August.
