Teen Titans: DC Has Big Plans for the Franchise

Teen Titans is one of the DC TV live-action series that many fans have been anticipating. The show was supposed to premier on TNT, as announced a couple of years ago. However, the television network announced that it is not moving forward with these plans, stating that the market is oversaturated with superhero TV shows at this moment.

Does this mean that that is the end of the project? Not at all, according to Geoff Johns, DC Entertainment’s chief creative officer. Johns tells us that the Teen Titans will make the jump from the comic book pages to the small screen. He said, "We have plans for Titans. It's a huge piece of DC, and we have plans.

And this is an extremely ambiguous statement, since we can only assume that Geoff Johns was talking about a live-action adaptation for the small screen. But this can also be taken as a hint that the Teen Titans might be adapted into a live-action movie. The team is certainly well-known, with more fans being added via the television series Teen Titans Go!

This year will also mark the first appearance of the team in the DC Universe Animated Original Movies series, with Justice League vs. Teen Titans. The animated feature will be released for digital download on March 29, and it will be available on DVD and Blu-ray on April 12.

Warner Bros and DC have already announced a Cyborg solo movie for April 3, 2020. But it wouldn't be a surprise if this turned out to be a Teen Titans movie. After all, the Green Lantern has become a Green Lantern Corps movie and will feature multiple Earth-based Green Lanterns.
