Suicide Squad is set to come to theaters so sooner than August 5th, 2016. Until then, expect the rumor mill to work overtime: DC's prime super-villains are promised lighter sentences in exchange of carrying out dangerous missions by order of a secret government agency. As little as we know about the plot, it's enough to grab attention and fuel speculation.
Plus, there's the cast. With the likes of Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie and Cara Delevingne on board with Suicide Squad, the flamboyant lineup is yet to be completed. It was no later than the other day that a bunch of A-listers were rumored to be in talks with Ayer: from Gary Sinise, Joel Edgerton and Jon Bernthal to Max Martini, Karl Urban, Joe Manganiello, Jason Clarke and even Ed Harris.

Suicide Squad inspired by The New 52?

Ayer's tweet is plain enough not to need further explanations. But the question must be asked: does he suggest he'll avail himself of the story such as it is featured by The New 52 Suicide Squad Vol. 4, #1 “Kicked in the Teeth”?
If so, it means Suicide Squad is still in need of actors to play El Diablo, King Shark, Black Spider and Voltaic, who, according to the said issue, join Task Force X, next to Will Smith's Deadshot and Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn.
If the movie pulls from Vol. 4, #1, it's highly likely it will abound in flashbacks to explain how the villains got to be imprisoned. Plus, their first mission will be to destroy the so-called Mississippi Megadome. Of course, they work against the clock. The Joker remains imprisoned, dominating from afar via his typical mind games.
Could it be that? Will Ayer follow the issue to the letter? Plus, how will he slot in the rumored Lex Luthor? How will he work Batman (also rumored) out in this plot? Ayer wants to tell us something, but if it's not that, what could it be? Any thoughts on that?
