Jessica Jones has been filming its second-season episodes in New York City since the first week of April, but we haven’t heard anything official or unofficial about it until now. In a recent casting update, it was revealed that Leah Gibson, who portrayed Nettie in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, will join the Jessica Jones cast roster.
According to Variety, Gibson will be a series regular during the Marvel/Netflix show’s sophomore season. She’ll play a character named Ingrid, who’s been described as "street-wise, but also educated as a nurse".
You might remember that Ingrid is one of the new Jessica Jones Season 2 characters for whom casting breakdowns were leaked back in April. Judging by the description, many thought the character was none other than Mary Alice Walker, aka Typhoid Mary.
The character, who first appeared in 1988’s Daredevil #254, is a former Daredevil love interest who later became his foe. She’s highly skilled in martial arts and has psionic powers that include telekinesis and pyrokinesis. She suffers from dissociative identity disorder, and has three abnormal personalities to go along with her timid, quiet, pacifist Mary personality.
Aside from her Twilight role, Leah Gibson had roles in Hulu’s Shut Eye, The CW’s The 100, A&E’s The Returned, and Audience’s Rogue. The 32-year-old actress also had small parts in The Watchmen and Rise of the Planet of the Apes.
Jessica Jones Season 2 has also added two-time Academy Award nominee and Golden Globe winner Janet McTeer as a mysterious key character. Trish Walker (Rachel Taylor) and Jeri Hogarth (Carrie-Ann Moss) will also join Krysten Ritter's badass hero for the second season. In addition, an actor was spotted making out with Ritter for a scene, but we don't know his identity or who his character is.
