Deadpool: Bad Blood Miniseries Announced by Marvel Comics

The Merc With a Mouth is coming back with a (kind of) new comic book miniseries in April. Marvel Comics has announced the release of Deadpool: Bad Blood, a miniseries that will bring the graphic novel from 2017 to print in a whole new way. Hailing from the character’s co-creator Rob Liefeld, the graphic novel is now being split up into a series of issues. Plus, the issues will get new covers from the man himself.

Liefeld teamed up with writers Chris Sims and Chad Bowers for the graphic novel initially in 2017. At the time, it was the character’s first-ever original graphic novel. Though Deadpool had starred in many, many comic book issues and solo series up to that point. In any case, the well-received book is now getting new life in a totally new format. The first two issues will hit stands in April, with issues #1 debuting on 4/4, with issue #2 to follow on 4/20.

Here is the synopsis for Deadpool: Bad Blood.

“Wade Wilson has been shooting, stabbing and otherwise annoying people for a long time. He’s made a lot of enemies. But one he just can’t quite place is the brutal Thumper, who keeps showing up out of the blue to pound him into jelly. What is Deadpool’s past connection to this beefy face masher? Wade has as much of a clue as you do! So he decides to call in some help from an old friend: Domino! Can he and Domino get to the bottom of things before Deadpool meets his maker again? Answers might lay in a secret mission from years ago that brought Deadpool and X-Force together.”

Liefeld had this to say.

“I don’t know which call was better, the one in 2017 where Marvel told me that DEADPOOL: BAD BLOOD was the #1 graphic novel for the month or the call last month when Marvel told me they wanted to break the 100 pages up into a miniseries for audiences that may have missed the first time around! Deadpool! Cable! X-Force! Kane and the debut of Thumper! This is my favorite work, a personal work , and I’m so thrilled we are releasing it in an all new format! Get your hands on it this April!!!”

Meanwhile, fans are still waiting for Ryan Reynolds to return for another movie. Deadpool 2 was released back in 2018 and was quite successful. However, the Disney/Fox merger delayed the planned third movie. But Deadpool 3 is currently being worked on by the writers behind Bob’s Burgers, so there is hope on that front. Perhaps this can help fill the void until we get some firm news on that front.

Deadpool: Bad Blood hits shelves in April.
