While we are waiting for an official word on a potential Lobo standalone movie, an announcement has made its way online revealing the character's arrival in a live-action small-screen venture.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Krypton Season 2 is set to introduce Lobo. It won't be a cameo or an insignificant couple-of-episode-long appearance. Rather, he is going to be the upcoming season's big baddie.
Casting for the fan-favorite DC Comics bounty hunter in the Syfy series has not been announced yet. But whoever lands the role will be the first to play him in live-action media. The character has showed up in a number of animated movies and television shows but never in a live-action venture produced by Warner Bros.
In the last 15 years or so, the studio has made numerous failed attempts to make a Lobo standalone movie. Directors like Guy Ritchie and Brad Peyton and actors like Will Smith and Dwayne Johnson were involved with different versions of the project. According to a recent report, the studio is currently pursuing Transformers director Michael Bay to direct a movie centering on the Czarnian character from a script penned by Wonder Woman scribe Jason Fuchs.
