Warner Bros. treated attendees at Barcelona’s CineEurope 2018 to the first screening of the Aquaman trailer, which will apparently pop up online sometime in the very near future.
Although we were able to share a description of the footage shown at CinemaCon 2018, we have no information about the trailer’s contents. What we do have is this extremely rough Google Translate version of a brief statement shared by the Russian website KinoMetro:
At the presentation, the premiere of the first trailer of this picture took place. [It] showed that [Aquaman] is full of not only traditional action and dizzying special effects, but also good humor. [Visually, the trailer is] rushed and unusually bright, [which isn’t common with] films from DC.
After the CineEurope screening, Deadline predicted that the first Aquaman trailer would "soon" turn up online. Variety also shared that the studio was likely to release the trailer "in the next few days."
Deadline also offered this new and interesting description of the December 21, 2018 release:
The film tells the tale of Arthur Curry, who learns that he is the heir to the underwater kingdom of Atlantis and must step forward to lead his people and be a hero to the world.
Variety also weighed in, describing Jason Momoa's titular character as "a reluctant superhero" and adding that Mera (Amber Heard) was "a kick-ass female protagonist".
