Knuckles TV Show Trailer Released By Paramount

Knuckles TV Show Trailer Released By Paramount

Paramount has released the first official trailer for Knuckles. The series is set to debut on the Paramount+ streaming service later this year and is set in the same universe as the live-action Sonic the Hedgehog movies. It once again features Idris Elba as Knuckles who will be facing a new threat with a new human friend. Check it out.

The trailer picks up after the events of Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Knuckles is no longer an adversary to Sonic and Tails, but he’s trying to make his own way in the world. This leads him on a path of conflict with the chance to save the world. Sonic and Tails do appear, but it looks very much like they will be supporting characters here. Paramount also revealed that a new TV spot will air during the Super Bowl for the show this weekend.

Here is the synopsis for Knuckles.

“The new live-action event series follows Knuckles (Idris Elba) on a hilarious and action-packed journey of self-discovery as he agrees to train Wade (Adam Pally) as his protégé and teach him the ways of the Echidna warrior.”

The ensemble cast includes Stockard Channing (The West Wing), Edi Patterson (The Righteous Gemstones), Scott Mescudi (X), Ellie Taylor (Ted Lasso), Julian Barratt (Mindhorn), Rory McCann (Game of Thrones), Cary Elwes (BlackBerry), Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future), Paul Scheer (Black Monday) and Rob Huebel (Childrens Hospital).

The series was created by John Whittington and Toby Ascher, who serves as the showrunner. Whittington, who wrote Sonic the Hedgehog 2, serves as head writer and wrote the pilot for the series. Jeff Fowler, who directed both movies, directed the pilot episode. Neal H. Moritz, Toby Ascher, John Whittington and Toru Nakahara serve as executive producers along with Elba. Additional directors for the series include Ged Wright, Brandon Trost, Jorma Taccone and Carol Banker.

The six-episode series takes place between the events of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog 3. The first two films were very successful, taking in a combined $725 million at the global box office. The third film is due to hit theaters later this year in December. It will feature Shadow the Hedgehog, who was teased as the sequel began filming. Whether or not he appears in the show remains to be seen.

Knuckles premieres on Paramount+ on April 26.
