When it was announced that Seth Rogen would produce a TV show based on the Preacher comic book by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon, there was no excitement. Given the source material and Rogen's past work (in comedies), there seemed to be no chance that the show would work. Then the first episode was aired, and it was awesome - and so was the rest of the show! Some fans called it the best comic book-based TV show of the year (and this says something, given the Netflix and Marvel collaborations).
So, obviously, the second season was greenlighted, even though a release date hasn't been announced. While the first season had just 10 episodes (like the first season), there will be 13 in the second.
The end of the first season of Preacher saw Jesse, Cassidy, and Tulip finally hitting the road in order to find…well, God. And this was, in a way, how the comic book started. Where will the road take them? Well, we know for certain that the awesome Odin Quincannon (Jackie Earle Haley) won't return as the villain. Instead, the three will have to face the even more frightening Herr Starr (we don’t know who will portray him).
Production for the second season officially began today! To mark the occasion, star Dominic Cooper posted a very interesting and promising pic on his Twitter account. Check it out below!

There’s no way that the trio's road trip will be an uneventful one! Especially since they’re also being tracked by the unstoppable Saint of Killers!
As we mentioned, it isn't known when the second season of Preacher will debut. But we are certainly looking forward to it!
