Netflix’s Iron Fist Is Moving Forward

Fans of the TV versions of The Defenders were delighted with Jessica Jones, and most of them are already wondering if they will see Season 2. With Season 2 of Daredevil following, and shortly after, Luke Cage, things are a bit crowded in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In case you forgot the last piece of the televised Defenders series, we remind you that Iron Fist comes last but not least.

Iron Fist was left behind, as Marvel focused on spotlighting Jessica Jones. Now, after Jessica Jones had its share of attention, news about Iron Fist’s development come back.

Heroic Hollywood reports that the mysterious show from Marvel has found its showrunner. Marvel named Scott Buck as the executive producer for their Netflix fourth Defender series, Iron Fist. And if we look at Buck’s experience we can admit it’s a good choice.

Scott Buck was executive producer for television crime drama mystery series Dexter, and co-producer on the greatly praised drama Six Feet Under.

"Scott came in with a take on Iron Fist that quite simply knocked us off our feet," Executive Producer/Head of Marvel Television, Jeph Loeb confessed. "We always look for the most creative minds in the field to help us bring our heroes to life, and with Scott we've found someone that can deliver yet another great series in the ongoing story of The Defenders."

"I've always been drawn to writing complex, intriguing characters, and that's what most excites me about the opportunity to bring Danny Rand and "Iron Fist" to life with Marvel on Netflix," said Buck.

The show will surely come out at least great, if we look at the mysterious background of the central character, Danny Rand and bear in mind the information above. Plus, with Jessica Jones stepping up the game, showrunners of upcoming Defenders series have the duty to come up to higher standards.

Marvel described the upcoming show about martial artist Danny Rand briefly: “Returning to New York City after being missing for years, Daniel Rand fights against the criminal element corrupting New York City with his incredible kung-fu mastery and ability to summon the awesome power of the fiery Iron Fist.”
