The DC Comics-based Gotham has called Fox home for the last three years, and now the network has ordered a Marvel Comics-based series for the 2017-2018 TV season. That series is Marvel Television and 20th Century Fox Television joint venture The Gifted.
A couple of months ago, executive producer Laurel Shuler Donner referred to the upcoming X-Men drama as Gifted, but we weren’t sure whether it was a working title or an official title. But now, there’s no doubt about the title or the fact that Fox found the Bryan Singer-directed pilot impressive enough to greenlight the series.
The network launched a 22-second teaser for The Gifted. It offers some exciting footage, including snippets of scenes featuring Polaris (Emma Dumont), Blink (Jamie Chung), Lauren Stewart (Natalie Alyn Lind), Andy (Percy Hynes White), Kate Stewart (Amy Acker), Reed Stewart (Stephen Moyer), and Eclipse (Sean Teale).
The teaser also confirms that the first full length trailer will arrive on Monday, May 15. Check it out below!
Matt Nix wrote The Gifted and is also serving as its showrunner. In addition, he’s working as an executive producer, alongside Singer, Donner, Simon Kinberg, Jeph Loeb, and Jim Chory.
Here's the official synopsis:
Action-adventure family drama THE GIFTED, from Marvel, tells the story of a suburban couple whose ordinary lives are rocked by the sudden discovery that their children possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family joins up with an underground network of mutants, and must fight to survive.
