The title of the upcoming X-Men television series, featuring fan-favorite mutants like Blink and Polaris, has finally been revealed. Laurel Shuler Donner, one of the show’s executive producers, recently announced via Twitter that the new venture by Marvel Television and 20th Century Fox Television will be titled Gifted.
The EP posted a photo of the various cast members participating in a table read for the pilot, and included the following caption:

Donner's tweet also revealed that Joseph Morgan, most recognized for portraying Klaus Mikaelson in The Vampire Diaries and its spin-off The Originals, will appear in the X-Men series. In the photo, he’s sitting right between Jamie Chung and Sean Teale. But at the moment, we have no idea which role the 35-year-old actor will play. Check out the photo below!
Earlier this week, Gifted added another new series regular: The Game and Third Watch star Coby Bell. According to Deadline, he’s set to play an original character named Jace Turner in the Fox series. The character is described as follows:
…a weathered man who quietly wrestles with the moral ambiguities of a job that regularly requires cold-blooded, calculating efficiency on a day-to-day basis.
The X-Men show's cast roster also includes Jamie Chung, Sean Teale, Emma Dumont, Blair Redford, Stephen Moyer, Amy Acker, Natalie Alyn Lind, and Percy Hynes. Matt Nix is serving as show runner, and Bryan Singer will direct the pilot. Nix and Singer are also serving as executive producers, along with Donner, Simon Kinberg, Jeph Loeb, and Jim Chory.
