After being introduced in 2011’s Thor, Hawkeye has appeared in both Avengers movies, and is set to appear in the upcoming Captain America: Civil War. Just like Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow, Jeremy Renner's character has no standalone movie. While chances of having a standalone Hawkeye movie don't seem too great, Renner thinks his character would be great in a solo series on Netflix. And he's open to it!
Here's what the actor said during his recent appearance at the Silicon Valley Comic-Con (via Cosmic Book News):
If there’s ever a way to explore the character, maybe it’s in that world. I don’t know. Again, these are things that are out of my control, so I don’t really kind of do anything about it…but I would be definitely open to it.
The 45-year-old actor reveals that he recently "started to enjoy exploring the character", and adds:
The Netflix model is really a fantastic way to…that’s where all the character drama goes to now. It’s either you are doing a superhero movie or you kind of go to a Netflix model or HBO…that’s where all the good television is, right? Always open to something like that.
Renner concludes by saying that he doesn't need to say yes or no to such things. Here's the video:
Jeremy Renner responds to Stephen Amell's Arrow vs. Hawkeye claims!
Back in 2014, Stephen Amell claimed that his Green Arrow could beat Hawkeye in any contest. When a fan points this out to Renner, he replies:
I’m happy that fictitious character can beat this other fictitious character in any random contest that he would like to challenge…I’m happy for that.

By the way, when a fan asked the actor to pick between Deadpool and Wolverine, he picked the latter, because he's "a big Wolverine fan"!
