Coming in 2018, Avengers: Infinity War promises to be the biggest Marvel movie to date, uniting all of the known superheroes against Thanos. And the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy will need all the help they can get, adding even more characters to their roster. How will the Russo Brothers tackle this? How will they manage to do justice to all of the characters during the Infinity War?
During an interview with the Toronto Sun, Anthony Russo explained that even the smallest part can have a big influence on how a movie develops. He mentioned Ant-Man, who merely cameoed in Captain America: Civil War. Nonetheless, he was still the only one who could have helped Captain America and Bucky escape - and so he helped them.
But the director didn't say just that. As far as the Infinity War is concerned, he and his brother are also looking at the Netflix shows. Does that mean that we'll see the Defenders appear during the Infinity War? It is more than possible - especially since they can still play an important part in the fight against Thanos. Pretty much like Ant-Man did during the Civil War.
The Defenders will unite for the first time on Netflix in 2017. And since they will rid New York of a big threat, the Avengers should take them into account - even if it is just for dealing with the army the Mad Titan will bring. Thus, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and the Punisher could turn the tide in the favor of the Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy.
No matter how they will be brought into the Infinity War, this is the first time someone with decision-making power has mentioned the possibility of having the Netflix characters on the big screen. And even if it’s just for a simple cameo, this would still be sufficient to make many fans' dreams come true.
