Brainiac, Bizarro and Supergirl were intensely discussed as being part of Man Of Steel 2. Then, Birth. Movies.Death came with a new report that discarded the initial plans where Brainiac was a part of Man Of Steel 2.
It is not sure yet whether Brainiac will be referred in Man Of Steel 2 or not. Other rumors said that he will have a brief appearance at the end of the movie. He is indeed suitable for Man Of Steel 2 as he is one of the most dangerous Superman's foes.
Metallo and Doomsday were considered too for the villain in Man Of Steel 2. Zack Snyder's admission in Entertainment Weekly via Cinemablend, clear things up:
"I remember talking about, "˜What's the next villain? We can't do another alien invasion.' Brainiac was definitely down the road. Metallo, I think, was going to be the main bad guy of this movie."
