Global destruction
In the beginning of the final trailer, Xavier says that things have been better. But that doesn’t necessarily equate with having peace – the mutants are still in hiding and are still being exploited (case in point, Angel being forced to fight for his survival) and we can presume that the human population isn’t too keen on sharing the planet (after all, this has been a central point of all of the X-Men movies thus far).
But this apparent peace is revealed in its true nature by the arrival of Apocalypse. And there are the shots in which we see the nukes flying – are they reality, or is it just a bad dream waiting to happen (as suggest by the trailers)?
And there is global destruction. And just like with any movie, the biggest of all landmarks are being destroyed – in this case, Sidney’s Opera House. While we are glad the Golden Gate Bridge is finally taking a break from being destroyed, we are wondering what in the world Apocalypse is doing down under, when there are plenty of other (more famous) landmarks in the world.
