The Batman

When the first nine DCEU movies were announced in 2014, the biggest surprise was that there was no Batman reboot in sight. However, Ben Affleck proved to be a capable Caped Crusader in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, so the studio changed its initial plans (apparently, this is the Batman Extended Universe, as some fans say).

Deathstroke, played by Joe Manganiello, was confirmed to appear, and Jared Leto also teased on Instagram that he would appear. Ben Affleck will co-write, star, direct, and produce – so there’s a lot of pressure on him, especially since he said that his movie would include multiple villains from the Dark Knight’s rogues gallery (does this mean that we’ll head deep into Arkham?)

At this moment, we don’t know what the story will be about – but it’s rumored that it will be either a Red Hood or a Serious House adaptation.

Warner Bros. wanted to release The Batman (as it’s now called) in late 2018. But since Ben Affleck said time and time again that the script isn’t perfect yet, and that he doesn’t intend to fail with this one, it’s safe to say that his solo movie will be delayed…
