Rick Flag

The cards are stacked against Rick Flag, the leader of the Suicide Squad – he isn’t one of them. Reportedly, he is the eyes and ears of Amanda Waller, the one responsible for the creation of the squad. He is a military man, so he is basically a hero among villains – why would they let him live?

A rumor dating back when Tom Hardy was still cast said that Rick Flag will be the hidden villain of the movie. So, according to that rumor, he will double-cross the team of villains – which once again makes us believe that they’ll deal with him in one way or another, most likely towards the end of the flick.

And he is a disposable character, who can be replaced in the following movies. For example, Steve Trevor might take his place (as the rumor goes, Chris Pine will play both the grandfather of Steve Trevor, during the first Wonder Woman flick, as well as the nephew).

And even if Joel Kinnaman’s character isn’t a villainous one, he could still be killed. If he is indeed the only hero in a team of villains, killing him will once again make the statement that the world isn’t fair. And this will be an interesting twist, which could lead to different other choices for a leader in a future Suicide Squad flicks.

So we do believe that he will die – most likely towards the end of the movie.

In the trailer, we see him and Enchantress (before she transforms) getting close to each other. If she is indeed the one the Suicide Squad is after, he might just sacrifice himself for her to live.
