4. Jonah Hex

The 2010 Josh Brolin-starrer was a huge box office bomb, one of the biggest that year. It was really just a mess, and is only loosely based on the comic book character, who didn’t have the power to speak to the dead that he was given in the movie. At a runtime of 81 minutes, Jonah Hex was ridiculously brief and almost incomprehensible.
It should be safe to say that studios will steer clear of this character for a long while, but Jonah Hex deserves to have a proper reboot. The comics’ unique mix of Western, supernatural, and sci-fi has too much story potential to be ignored. A successful film would embrace these genres and spin a classic Western tale with a surreal tinge of horror elements.
