9. Excalibur
Last time, I extolled the virtues of MI-13, a recent British superteam, so this time I thought I'd talk about their spiritual predecessor.
But to do that, we need to talk about Chris Clairemont. Chris Clairemont did more to revolutionize comics than you might think. He turned the X-Men into the best selling and most popular comic book of all time after they were nearly cancelled. He changed how team books were written forever with his work.
So, when he decided he wanted to take a couple of his favorite X-Men (Kitty Pryde and Nightcrawler), stick "˜em in England, and throw in some awesome British characters (Captain Britain and his wife), nobody stopped him.
The resulting series was a fun romp that gave Kitty and Kurt some more character development and also gave us more Captain Britain, who is super great. As a movie, it'd go a long way toward expanding the X-Universe.
If they made it, I'd certainly take my car out of the garage and drive to the theatre to see this presumably colorful film.
