Suicide Squad

UPDATE 2 – Suicide Squad’s Deadshot and Harley Quinn have also made it to the covers of the magazine! Plus, there’s an exciting fan art featuring The Joker and Batman! The images have been added to the final page of this post!

UPDATE – The Joker cover (both main and regular) of the Suicide Squad-centric issue have been launched officially published and we have replaced the previous lower quality snapshots with the original ones!

With Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad scheduled to release in 2016, the one-film-old DC Extended Universe is obviously aiming to stand as a strong competitor to the well-flourished Marvel Cinematic Universe. The latest issue of Total Film magazine was a Batman V Superman-centric one, featuring new images and interviews of the movie's makers and cast members.

And Suicide Squad isn't lagging behind at all! The December issue of Empire Magazine is what can be termed as a Suicide Squad-centric issue! The cover as well as the interior of the magazine issue features a bunch of new images and new details from the David Ayer flick. I'll try to cover in this post as much as I can from all that's offered on Suicide Squad in the particular issue.

Empire Magazine Cover Features THE JOKER!

Jared Leto's The Joker is arguably the hottest and biggest attraction of the third installment of DC Extended Universe. That's why a brand new image of the popular DC supervillain covers this Suicide Squad-centric issue! And this full body shot provides a completely different look of the Clown Prince of Crime - different from the official first look as well as the leaked set photos! Let's check it out below (via ComingSoon)!

Leto Shares His Unconventional JOKER Prep!

Jared Leto as The Joker

Jared Leto as The Joker

We've heard about Jared Leto's The Joker from Suicide Squad stars like Margot Robbie, Will Smith, Adam Beach and most recently Corina Calderon. But now, for the first time, we get to hear from the man himself! When the magazine's correspondent approached the Oscar winning actor to talk about his role in the movie, here's what he said (via ComicBookMovie):

"I was just thinking that the Joker would probably just say, ‘F**k you,’ and hang up.

However, Leto didn't do that eventually - answered questions instead! When asked about the crazy things he's been doing ever since he's playing The Joker (such as sending gifts to Suicide Squad co-stars like a live rat to Margot Robbie, bullets to Will Smith, etc.!), here's how he explained:

"There was definitely a period of"¦detachment. I took a pretty deep dive. But this was a unique opportunity and I couldn't imagine doing it another way.

He enjoyed playing those PSYCHOLOGICAL GAMES but there were painful experiences too like GIVING BIRTH OUT OF HIS PRICK HOLE!

Jared Leto also shared his quite interesting insight on his Suicide Squad character - he feels that The Joker is likely "˜much older than people think' and "˜something different'. Well, not sure if the DC supervillain is much older or not but who doesn't think that the character is different? The actor seemed happy enough with what he's done with The Joker. He added:

"If you don’t break rules, you’re not going to strike new ground. I think I’ll be cooling down for the rest of my life.

On the next page - more on The Joker from Suicide Squad director and producer and more new images!

The Joker of Suicide Squad is MORE SOCIAL!

The magazine also bears words on The Joker from the Suicide Squad director David Ayer and producer Charles Roven! Ayer termed the DC supervillain as "˜the third rail of comic book movies' - which he obviously is. He added:

"There’s a power to that character, and by some freaking miracle, through the incredible things Jared has done and the photography and all the other millions of things that went into it, we’ve cooked up something transcendent.

And he went on to say that The Joker of Suicide Squad is SCARY!

Meanwhile, Charles Roven revealed that the dress sense of the Batman-nemesis has been inspired by MEXICAN CARTELS! He claimed that apart from being A SOCIOPATH, Leto's version of the character is "˜more social', as well as "˜a very successful and smart businessman'! Did you expect that? I didn't!

New Images of The Joker and Harley Quinn!

The magazine issue bears some images of Jared Leto's character and Margot Robbie's character. The three images that you get to see below are part of one scene during a therapy session which confirms that Harley Quinn indeed starts off as The Joker's psychiatrist, Dr. Harleen Quinzel! Check out the images (via OuterPlaces)!

The dialogue from the sequence is narrated below (via ComicBookMovie):

"She’s got my back,” Flag informs the Squad. “I’d advise not getting killed by her – her sword traps the souls of its victims.” Harley extends her hand, perky and smirky. “Harley Quinn, nice to meetcha. Love your perfume. What is that: Stench of Death?
