Spider-Man: Just A Cameo In Civil War

Childproof Spider-Man in the MCU?

Spider-Man news surely generated a lot of buzz on and off the web this year. The announcement of his return to the MCU (February 10th) and the confirmation of Tom Holland as the new Peter Parker (June 23rd) are the key moments of the recent history of the superhero web slinger.

In the meanwhile we also learned he'll also appear in Civil War and that Marvel will have to abide by the guidelines enforced by Sony. Basically, to keep Spider-Man - the Peter Parker version - a childproof character: white, straight, not involved in sexual or violent contexts, and so on.

The extent to which he'll impact Civil War was not known. But his cameo was heavily rumored. Now it's no longer speculation. Hit 2 to get the details!

THR sat with Paul Rudd and Kevin Feige and got into details about the future of the MCU. Spider-Man's future development was also brought to attention.

THR maintains "Holland will report immediately to the set of the currently shooting Captain America: Civil War, which Marvel has scheduled for a May 6, 2016, release and in which the newest Spider-Man will make his first onscreen appearance.

And Variety corroborates: "The actor is first expected to make an appearance in "Captain America: Civil War" in order to properly introduce him into the Marvel film universe, with standalone films to follow on July 28, 2017.

Variety also adds "Spider-Man is only expected to have a cameo in "Captain America: Civil War," so there wasn't a rush to make a decision since the thesp would only be shooting for about a week.

The question now is: how are they going to work out a teenage Spidey - child-friendly on top of that - in the events expected for Civil War?

No sex, no smoking, no violence, no nothing for the newfangled Spider-Man: a lot of limitations to comply with and manage to slot him in a movie that's expected to bring the regular superhero dish to the table.

But, then again, if he'll only hold a cameo, Spider-Man won't probably even need to be developed such as to have to push the limits exacted by Sony.

On that note, I guess we'll just have to wait and see. What's good to know is the months-old rumor stuck: Spider-Man is in Civil War, and he'll only make a cameo!

But what say you, guys? How will Marvel manage to keep Spider-Man a childproof character in a cinematic universe which clearly targets adult audience? Have your say below via comments! And don't forget: stay tuned, we'll bring you the hottest scoop on all things Marvel!
