We all love superheroes (some of us may even love supervillains) and one of the main reasons for our love of these characters is the superpowers they possess.

Granted, they’re heroic (or villainous), they often have great fighting skills, are often intelligent to a genius degree, and have a lot of other stuff going for them that we find appealing, but the main thing we like is the fact that they have special abilities beyond those possessed by people in the real world.

Seeing the Hulk lifting thousands of tonnes, Superman flying, the Flash travelling round the world in less than a second, Professor X controlling someone’s mind or Invisible Woman hiding in plain sight makes us wish that we had powers like that—but, sadly, that’s just not possible (at least not yet!).
