He-Man is coming back to Netflix in 2024, and we’ve got a first look. Netflix has revealed the first clip from Masters of the Universe: Revolution. This is a sequel to 2021’s Masters of the Universe: Revelation, though it is very much telling a different tale. This is straight-up He-Man vs. Skeletor, with some other villains in the mix. In this case, the clip showcases an impressive battle between our hero and Scare Glow. Check it out.
It’s interesting that Netflix decided to release a clip first rather than a teaser trailer. Either way, it’s enough to demonstrate what we’re in for. This is visually impressive animation as a vehicle for He-Man and his pals in their quest to save Eternia. The teaser also reveals that the plan is for the show to arrive sometime in 2024. No specific release date has been set at this time, however. One imagines it would be early next year though.
Here is the synopsis for Masters of the Universe: Revolution.
“It’s technology versus magic when He-Man and the heroic warriors face the forces of Skeletor and something more in MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE: REVOLUTION – the new epic chapter in the battle for Castle Grayskull! The newly mechanized Skeletor, armed with the might of Motherboard, attacks the heart of Eternia while Prince Adam grapples with a new responsibility and what that means for him as He-Man! Adam is forced to choose between the scepter or the sword, and a life as either the King or the Champion! Meanwhile, the new Sorceress Teela searches for the secret of Snake Magic in the mists of Darksmoke to rebuild a magic realm and help He-Man hold off the greatest threat Eternia has ever faced: the return of the despot Hordak, the ruthless leader of the Horde Empire!”
The cast for the series is led by Chris Wood as He-Man and Mark Hamill as Skeletor. The ensemble also includes Diedrich Bader, Melissa Benoist, Liam Cunningham, Keith David, Lena Headey, Griffin Newman, William Shatner, Tiffany Smith and Tony Todd. Kevin Smith heads up the show with Ted Biaselli, Rob David, Christopher Keenan and Frederic Soulie also serving as executive producers. The new seasons will consist of five episodes. Whether or not we get a third season remains to be seen. As it always does, it will come down to viewership and the response from the fans.
Masters of the Universe: Revolution premieres in 2024.
