Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales is coming to a Sony PlayStation near you later this year. Sony has confirmed that the upcoming video game will indeed arrive for both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Additionally, they have revealed a new, impressive gameplay trailer to hype up the release. Have a look.
The trailer kicks off with Miles and his buddy Ganke heading to a rally for his mom, Rio Morales. We get a glimpse of the New York Neighborhood the webslinger calls home. A high-tech criminal army known as the Underground interrupts the rally, which calls Miles to action. Of note, a version of the villain the Tinkerer appears in the footage. The villain gained mainstream notoriety following his appearance in Spider-Man: Homecoming but has been a part of the Marvel Comics universe for decades.
As we can see, this looks to be in line with Marvel’s Spider-Man, only with visual upgrades, a new storyline and main character. The first game, which was hugely successful, centered on Peter Parker. This time around, players will suit up as Miles Morales for an entirely new adventure. Luckily, those who wish to take on the task don’t have to shell out for a next-gen console to do so. The PlayStation 5, which was recently confirmed for a November release, will run $400 for the digital version of the console or $500 for the edition with the disc drive.
Here is the synopsis for Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
“The latest adventure in the Spider-Man universe will build on and expand ‘Marvel’s Spider-Man’ through an all-new story. Players will experience the rise of Miles Morales as he masters new powers to become his own Spider-Man.”
There are still some important questions lingering. Namely, how sizable the campaign in this new game will be. The turnaround time was rather quick, compared to other major video games, which has led to some speculation that it may be on the shorter side.
Sony has also announced Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition. This version of the game includes a voucher code for Marvel’s Spider-Man: Remastered. Players can experience the complete storyline up to this point, including the remaster of the original game and all three installments of the Marvel’s Spider-Man: The City That Never Sleeps DLC.
The standard edition will be available digitally on the PlayStation Store or physically at retailers for $49.99. Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition will launch both physically and digitally on the PlayStation Store for $69.99 on launch day.
Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales arrives on November 12.
