The Complete Marvel Cinematic Universe Timeline In Order

Robert Downey Jr. in Iron Man

Disney has officially laid out the full timeline for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. At one point, it wasn’t too hard to figure out how the whole thing unfolded. When The Avengers came out in 2012, it was just a handful of movies. Now? It’s dozens of movies, live-action shows, shorts and animation, all of which fall all over the timeline. It can be tough to keep track of. No longer. Well, at least for now anyway.

With the release of VisionQuest, Disney+ and Marvel Studios have revealed an updated timeline for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It includes every MCU movie to date up through 2025. The only movie it doesn’t include is Spider-Man: Brand New Day, only because it’s not available on Disney+. It also includes every canon animated series and live-action TV show, as well as several one-off shorts. This timeline provides a lot of clarity.

What this timeline will look like in a few years? That’s tough to say. Avengers: Doomsday will shake things up in December. Then, Avengers: Secret Wars will bring the Multiverse Saga to a close. Presumably, what comes next will be a lot different than what came before. Whether or not that fundamentally changes the timeline remains to be seen. For now though, here’s what it looks like 18 years into the MCU’s existence.
