Marvel’s Captain America: Brave New World Trailer Has Arrived

Marvel Studios has released the first official trailer for Captain America: Brave New World. This is the first solo project that will see Anthony Mackie taking on the role of Captain America. He first picked up the mantle in the Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Now though, he’s getting a long overdue solo movie, one that will shake up the Marvel Cinematic Universe it seems. Check it out.

The trailer is very much giving off The Winter Soldier vibes, which is something we haven’t seen in quite some time. Sam Wilson is brought in to once again become an official military figure. He’s naturally resistant, and we come to see why. This serves as our first look at Harrison Ford as Thunderbolt Ross, taking over for the late William Hurt. The footage also finally addresses Tiamut, the half-grown Celestial from 2021’s Eternals that has yet to be addressed in the MCU since. Most importantly, we’re also seeing Red Hulk for the first time, with the character teased at the very end of the trailer.

Here is the synopsis for Captain America: Brave New World.

“Anthony Mackie returns as the high-flying hero Sam Wilson, who’s officially taken up the mantle of Captain America. After meeting with newly elected U.S. President Thaddeus Ross, Sam finds himself in the middle of an international incident. He must discover the reason behind a nefarious global plot before the true mastermind has the entire world seeing red.”

Julius Onah (The Cloverfield Paradox) is in the director’s chair. The cast also includes Danny Ramirez (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier), Shira Haas (Unorthodox), Xosha Roquemore (Family Switch), Carl Lumbly (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier) and Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad). Also of importance, Liv Tyler (Betty Ross) and Tim Blake Nelson (Samuel Sterns) will be reprising their roles for the first time since 2008’s The Incredible Hulk

2024 will see just one MCU movie hitting theaters in the form of Deadpool & Wolverine. It’s the first time in years that there will only be one film from Marvel Studios released in a calendar year, not coming 2020 when the pandemic shut everything down. But things get back on track in 2025. The studio is also due to release Thunderbolts and Fantastic Four. While Blade does have a November release date, the long-delayed reboot remains without a director. It’s highly unlikely it will arrive before 2026 the way things are going.

Captain America: Brave New World is set to hit theaters on February 14, 2025.
