Deadpool & Wolverine: WWIII Trailer Released By Marvel

Deadpool & Wolverine WWIII - Marvel Comics

Marvel has released a brand new trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine: WWIII. The upcoming comic will unite the fan-favorite mutant with the Merc With a Mouth once more. This time, they’re in for a wild adventure that pits them against a new foe. The trailer asks one simple question: Can they save the world without killing each other first? Check it out for yourself.

Teased as a globe-spanning saga, the trailer is full of heavy metal, blood and bullets. There is a ton of action, even if it does seem like Marvel is keeping the bulk of the story under wraps until the book hits stands. Overall, it looks like another fun, R-rated romp with Deadpool and Wolverine. The three-issue series is penned by Joe Kelly (Deadpool: The Saga of Wade Wilson) and artist Adam Kubert (Wolverine Epic Collection: To The Bone).

Here is the synopsis for Deadpool & Wolverine: WWIII.

“The most intensely mismatched team-up in comics and pop culture – the best there is and the merc with the mouth – undergoes a radical change as we kick off a three-part, globe-spanning saga for the ages! The mysterious Delta believes in change. Change is good. But as he sets his sights on Deadpool, and Wolverine is caught up in the plot, is the third time really the charm, or the curse?”

“We’ve seen both guys get put through the physical ringer in many ways, and part of the fun is trying to one-up the next person, or whoever played with these characters before you, but always in service of the story,” Kelly recently said to Comicbook.com about the series. “And I think in this case, my hope at least, is that we came up with a way to use these guys’ very, very unique abilities in a way that reflects what’s going on with them emotionally.”

The timing of the book is, perhaps not coincidentally, right before this summer’s Deadpool & Wolverine movie. The third film in the franchise will see Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman unite on screen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. They’ve crossed paths many times in the comics, but having them share the screen in a movie that isn’t X-Men Origins: Wolverine is a very big deal. So it’s not surprising that Marvel Comics would have a team-up book on shelves this summer as well.

Deadpool & Wolverine: WWIII #1 hits shelves on May 1.
