Not long after the first official TV spot for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Disney and Lucasfilm launch a second one. The first Star Wars TV spot included new footage, Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) in some action scenes, Lupita Nyong'o and the battle between the Resistance and the First Order plus the Maz Kanata voiceover introducing us into the story:
"I have lived long enough to see the same eyes in different people. I see your eyes. I know your eyes."
The second official Star Wars TV spot is shorter and doesn't contain any dialogue. We only get to hear the roaring of the returning hero, Chewbacca and sounds from new female droid BB-8.
The movie is much marketed lately, yet we haven't seen Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) and we won't see it in any promotional material. Director J.J. Abrams confirmed that there will be no more trailers for the movie and no spoilers. So every article you read about Star Wars: The Force Awakens will not steal the joy of seeing it in the cinema.
No spoilers in the Star Wars TV spots, nor in any other promotional material
As for all the promotional materials you have seen, we don't think they have spoiled anything, they just keep us alert. We've heard from Harrison Ford talking about his character Han Solo, and we only learned that Han is not looking up to Obi-"˜Ben' Kenobi's position:
"No, there's not an abandoning of the character. [Han] does not aspire to the position of Obi-"˜Ben' Kenobi, nor do I aspire to be some New Age Alec Guinness. His development is consistent with the character, and there are emotional elements which have occasioned his growth." (EW)
Recently, J.J. Abrams and Carrie Fisher were also interviewed by Entertainment Weekly and described Leia as an evolved character, with a harder mission and another position, but nothing that could spoil the story.
Here's a look at the first official Star Wars TV spot in case you missed it, it's more generous than the second one but each of them have their purposes.
