Andy Serkis is playing the newly introduced Supreme Leader Snoke in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, about which we didn't know much until now. But, good news is that the English actor has opened his mouth and offered new insights on his villainous character of the J.J. Abrams flick!
While talking to Entertainment Weekly, the Avengers: Age of Ultron star commented that his character in Star Wars: The Force Awakens is 'an enigmatic' one which is at the same time 'quite powerful' but 'strangely vulnerable'! Serkis went on to add:
"Obviously he has a huge agenda. He has suffered a lot of damage. As I said, there is a strange vulnerability to him, which belies his true agenda, I suppose."
Clash Between the Rebellion & the Empire brought the DAMAGE?
From the above statement of Andy Serkis, the first question that comes to my mind, and thankfully came to the interviewer's mind, is that where did the Supreme Leader Snoke suffer the 'LOT OF DAMAGE'? Was it on the encounter between the Rebellions and the Empire in the original Star Wars trilogy? Serkis hesitantly replied in negative and further explained:
"He's a new character in this universe. It is very much a newly-introduced character. He's aware of what's gone on, in the respect that he has been around and is aware of prior events."
He added that he thinks it'd be 'fair to say' that his Star Wars: The Force Awakens character is aware of the past to 'a great degree'.
