There are plenty of rumors concerning Wolverine 3. And the biggest of them all is the appearance of X-23. Quite a while ago, pics from the set saw Hugh Jackman and (a weary) Patrick Stewart in the company of a young girl - was she the clone of the no-nonsense mutant?
Another great unknown is the movie’s villain. While it is assumed that Wolverine 3 will (try to) adapt the Old Man Logan storyline, it isn't known who will replace the multiple characters owned by Disney. But new information has been revealed, and we might have found out something about that.
According to Cinema Blend, the Blu-ray commentary by Bryan Singer for X-Men: Apocalypse reveals who the big baddie is. As you might remember, Wolverine makes a small cameo in the film. Then, in the credits scene, a man carrying a briefcase with Essex Corp. written on it takes Wolverine's blood. Well, Essex Corp. is the company owned by Nathaniel Essex, also known as Mister Sinister.
According to Bryan Singer, this scene will play into Wolverine 3. While it was conceived as a credits scene for Deadpool, budget constraints relegated it to X-Men: Apocalypse. And now, according to Cinema Blend, it will have great importance in the final flick starring Hugh Jackman.
Who will portray Mister Sinister? Well, back in April it was announced that Richard E. Grant was cast in the role of a mad scientist for the upcoming Wolverine flick. Is that actually the character of Mister Sinister? It could be.
While this confirmation gives us an idea how X-23 could factor into the movie, that doesn't mean that Mister Sinister will be the only villain in the film, especially if the Old Man Logan storyline will be adapted.
